World No Tobacco Day

May 31st is World No Tobacco Day. Take good care of yourself. Commit to quit.

Tobacco kills more than 8 million people each year.

More than 7 million deaths are directly related to tobacco use, with the rest being due to secondhand smoke. 🚭

This year’s World #NoTobaccoDay encourages us to “commit to quit.” Studies reveal that smokers are at a higher risk of developing a severe case of coronavirus. 🤧

What happens when you quit smoking? ❌
✔️ 20 Minutes in – Your heart rate and blood pressure return to normal.
✔️ 8 Hours in – The levels of Nicotine and Carbon Monoxide in your blood have been reduced by half.
✔️ 24 Hours in – The Carbon Monoxide will no longer be present in your body.
✔️ 48 Hours in – The nicotine will have left your body and your senses of smell and taste will become sharper
✔️ 2 Weeks in – You can breathe a lot easier
✔️ 6 Months in – Handling stressful situations become a lot easier and you will cough up less mucus
✔️ 1 Year in –  Your risk of a heart attack is reduced to half.

If you’ve been able to quit tobacco successfully, please tell us your story in the comment section to inspire others.
