Sonny Harrison

Policy and Research

My name is Sonny Harrison, and I am a Politics graduate from the University of Leeds. My degree has allowed me to examine human rights issues, public health policy, and sustainability across Sub-Saharan Africa. My dissertation comparatively analysed 200 Chinese and Kenyan news articles, examining the media’s reporting of Chinese investments in infrastructural projects across Kenya and businesses’ compliance with ethical standards.

As a passionate advocate of the environment, I have previously worked as an ambassador for Cano Water, campaigning to end single-use plastic. I have previously volunteered for the British Heart Foundation also.

I am thrilled to be working as a Policy and Research Volunteer at AHO, as I have the opportunity to build upon my research skills and my knowledge of public health policy across Africa and to explore the best ways to tackle poverty and to promote sustainable development across the continent.
