Seema Harbham
Gender Equality Policy and Strategy
I have graduated with a MA in International Development from the University of Sheffield and a BA in International Relations from the University of Birmingham. Currently I work as a Client Services Executive at Kantar Media and volunteer at the British Red Cross.
Throughout my studies, I have had the opportunity to direct my own research projects in Nepal and Peru which were based on government and humanitarian response to disaster and emergencies where I found that a lot of women and girls were disproportionately affected. My experiences abroad and having lived with family in India, has given me a great insight on women’s issues and the disparities they face in societies today.
Gender inequality and health challenges pose a great threat to development and it’s a fantastic opportunity to be working with the AHO to shed more light on these issues as well as develop my own knowledge and skills.
