Emily Cundale

Freelance Journalist

My name is Emily Cundale, and I recently graduated from King’s College London with a bachelor’s degree in English. I am excited to join Africa Health Organisation as a Freelance Journalist and use my written communication and research skills, as well as gaining experience in the NGO field. It is vital that people globally have access to information regarding health in Africa and I am excited at the prospect of producing informative, authentic journalism as well as press releases and articles.  I am particularly interested in Adolescent female health, namely adolescent pregnancy, sexual health and mental health. After co-leading a programme named ‘Aspire’ in Lusaka, Zambia for local adolescent girls and leading a range of health-related workshops, I was inspired to learn the value of education in promoting good health outcomes. This opportunity enables me to combine love for journalism with my desire to instigate change in communities where gender disparities have limited women’s access to sexual health education and resources for so long, as well as engaging with a range of other current health topics.
